Wig Density Guide: What Density Actually Changes

Density is a retailer specification used to describe fullness. It should be treated as one attribute in the overall design, not as a universal quality score.

Density changes silhouette

More density generally means more hair volume and a fuller outline, but curl pattern and length can make the same percentage look very different.

Texture changes perceived fullness

Curly and kinky textures can appear fuller than straight textures at the same labeled density, so compare the finished style rather than percentages alone.

Length matters too

Very long hair distributes volume over more length. A density that looks dramatic in a bob can read differently in a much longer wig.

Use percentages comparatively

Treat density labels as most reliable for comparing options from the same retailer or product family, then check photos and the exact variant.
